These Barges off-load the liquid oil consignments from mother vessels anchorred in mid-stream & transport them to wharf side either for delivery to tank lorries or direct discharge into shore tanks. This way, the mother vessels are released before time without incurring heavy demurrage charges and also, the business turnover stands to benefit immensely.
